George re-joined the
City of Cambridge in 1994 to plan and create the
Emergency Communications Department. By 1996 the department had
constructed and opened a
consolidated 911 and emergency communications center at
489 Broadway in the Fire HQ Complex that combined city police dispatch and fire alarm
function and personnel. George has 30 years experience
is various areas of the criminal justice system having
worked in both the private technology sector as well as
for the Mass. Governor's Committee on Law Enforcement,
the Mass. Department of Correction, the Mass. Parole
Board, and the Cambridge Police Department. Since joining the department he has become an active
member of the Massachusetts 911 community and the local
emergency planning community. He has participated in
many of the Cambridge-coordinated emergency planning
events, as members of Cambridge Public Safety and other
concerned agencies practice and prepare for emergency incident.
George also helped to coordinate the Cambridge
Democratic National Convention response as well as
create the new Cambridge Emergency Operations Center. George regularly conducts training
around the state and participates in organizations
that coordinate activities among Public Safety
Answering Points (PSAPs). George is currently a
gubernational appointee to the
MCSA seat on the state
911
Commission where he is also a member of its Standards,
Training, Operational and NG911
Committees as well as the Wireless Working Group. He is a member of the national
NENA Regulatory and
Legislative Committee. He is active in the 911 Committee
of the Massachusetts Major City (Police) Chiefs group.
He ss a member of the Communications Interop Subcommittee (CIS) of the Metro Boston Homeland Security
(UASI) region. He
is a member of various other groups including the Association of Public-Safety Communication
Officials (APCO).
He is a former President of the
Massachusetts chapter (MassNENA) of the National Emergency Number
Association (NENA)
and a former officer of the Massachusetts Communications Supervisors
Association (MCSA).
Mr Fosque has a BA in English from Trinity College and
an MBA in Public Management from Boston University. |
